Our story started in the 60’s with Don O’Brien, a hardworking tradesman with more grit than resources. In the early days, his office consisted of nothing more than a door balanced on boxes for a desk and a five-gallon bucket for a chair. But what Don lacked in comfort, he made up for in craftsmanship. With every tile laid, he built a reputation for integrity, reliability, and relentless attention to detail.
Don passed that spirit on to his son, Jack O’Brien, a sharp-minded estimator with a natural talent for numbers. Jack refined the company’s estimating and managing systems, transforming back-of-the-envelope calculations into a precise and scaleable process. His efforts helped the business grow, earning the trust of established general contractors and developers across Northern California.
Today, the torch is carried by Jordon O’Brien, the third generation to lead California Tile Installers. With deep respect for the foundation his family built, Jordon is reshaping the business, expanding capabilities and raising the bar for what commercial tile and stone installation subcontractors can achieve.
What began as one man and a reputation for doing it right, is now a multi-generational company delivering award-winning commercial tile and stone installations across the Bay Area and Northern California.
